Frequently Asked Questions

We know starting therapy — or even just considering it — can come with a lot of questions. Below you’ll find answers to the most common things people ask before getting started.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Please reach out directly with any questions. We’re happy to talk things through, clarify anything, and answer all of your questions to ensure you are able to find the best therapist for you or your loved one.

1. How do I get started?

You can book directly through our website to secure an appointment with your preferred therapist. After scheduling, we’ll send over your initial paperwork and connect with you to answer any questions you may have.

You can also call, text, or submit a contact form through our website. Our Clinical Care Coordinator, Stacey, is trained to help match clients with the therapist who best fits their needs. She’ll take time to learn what you’re looking for and help connect you with the right fit.

Our promise to you is simple: If for any reason we’re not the best fit for your needs, we’ll do our best to help you find someone who is—even if that isn’t with us.

2. What makes Everest Therapy Solutions different?

We focus on helping our clients find solutions and take action—not just talk about problems.

We look at therapy as something that isn’t simply about reducing symptoms or “getting by.” It’s about helping our clients connect with what truly matters to them so they can create the life they truly want to live.

Our approach is grounded in evidence-based methods that help our clients:

  • Step out of patterns that keep them stuck

  • Take meaningful action—even when it feels uncomfortable

  • Build a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with what matters most to them

For many people at ETS, therapy becomes more than symptom reduction. It becomes a space for continued growth, self-understanding, and intentional living.

3. What session frequency leads to the best results?

We typically recommend starting with weekly sessions.

Research shows that recurring, frequent sessions early in therapy are a stronger predictor of long-term, lasting change than going longer periods between sessions—even if the total number of sessions ends up being the same.

Knowing this, we ask our clients to commit to at least weekly sessions until the bulk of their goals are achieved. This helps create consistency, build momentum, and allows clients to receive the most value possible from their investment in their growth and well-being.

4. How do I find the therapist that is right for me?

Finding the right therapist is important, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. You can read about our therapists to learn more about their backgrounds, approaches, and specialties, or you can reach out to us directly. We’ll take time to learn what you’re looking for and help guide you toward the therapist who may be the best fit for your needs—even if that isn’t with us.

.

5. Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

We offer both in-person therapy in Charleston, SC and secure tele-health appointments for anyone in South Carolina. This gives you the flexibility to choose what works best for your schedule.

6. How much does therapy cost?

Session rates vary depending on the therapist and service. Most therapists at Everest Therapy Solutions offer 50-minute individual therapy sessions for $165 and 50-minute couples therapy sessions for $195. Michael Chester’s rates differ.

7. Do you accept insurance?

We are out-of-network with insurance, which allows us to provide high-quality, individualized care without restrictions from insurance companies.

If you have a PPO insurance plan, your plan may reimburse up to 100% of the cost, depending on your benefits. We can provide what's called a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, and we’ll walk you through exactly how to submit it.

8. What is a superbill?

A superbill is a document you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Depending on your plan—especially if you have a PPO—this may cover a significant portion, or even up to 100%, of your session cost.

9. How long are sessions?

Most sessions are around 50 minutes. This gives us enough time to focus on what matters most while keeping things structured and effective.
