Brett Leach

There is a reason you are reading this right now. You want to reach out to somebody for help. Perhaps it's difficult to communicate what you are going through, and even more difficult to find relief or solutions to your problems. You may know exactly what you would like to change, but when you try to resolve one problem, life seems to hand you more. You want to get unstuck, you want stress and pain to play a smaller role in your life, and you want to experience more fulfillment and joy.

There is no shame in seeking out therapy, and I commend you on taking this first step. The stigma of seeking therapeutic help has been fading for decades now, and vast amounts of research show how effective therapy is in treating a multitude of issues, big and small. It takes wisdom and strength to recognize when you need assistance and support. Even the greatest athletes on Earth have coaches that provide them with external perspective to enhance their abilities and performance.

I have faced my own struggles with depression, anxiety, loss, and many other obstacles that life has to offer. These experiences along with my desire to alleviate the suffering I see in others drove me to become a therapist. I've devoted most of my life to helping others well before receiving any formal training because I knew that this was my purpose. There is no clear-cut instruction manual for life, but there are strategies and tools that have been measured, tested, and found to be highly effective!

I can help you become more like the person you want to be, just as I have with many others before by utilizing these evidence-based practices!

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the backbone of my therapeutic practice.

  • Awareness of the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors can be crucial to breaking out of unhelpful cycles and patterns in your life.

  • Develop practical, actionable skills in areas such as communication, problem-solving, and many more.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) serves as an invaluable supplement to therapeutic treatment.

  • Acceptance can prevent unnecessary suffering.

  • Exploring your personal values can help provide motivation, meaning, and direction to your life.

  • Mindfulness practices can sharpen your mental focus and enhance psychological flexibility.

Motivational interviewing (MI) addresses roadblocks that obstruct the development of meaningful, long-lasting changes.

  • Identify where previous attempts to improve have not succeeded, and what must be done to create healthy lifestyle changes.

  • Take ownership of your choices, and become more intentional about getting what you want out of life.

Whatever you are faced with, whatever you bring into the room, I will provide a safe, confidential, and judgment-free space for us to work through it together. I am here to give you my attention, compassion, and support to help you create the life you want to live.
