Everest Therapy Solutions
Celena Richards, MA, LPCA
Are you looking for a place where you can explore all topics or learn more about yourself? My main goal as a therapist is to create a space that feels safe emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually so that we can explore together through anything. I'm here to listen to you in a non judgmental way so that you feel heard, validated, and understood. This is all to allow space for you to grow, mend, or restore in the way that you want to. I believe that YOU are the expert of YOUR life and I'm here to give guidance and to help make sense of things so that you can be the version of you that you want to be. I consider myself to be very open-minded; which means I’m always willing to learn more and to expand my knowledge and skills in order to help the people I work with in the best way possible.

More Details
I consider myself eclectic in my approach as a therapist and I use many valid methods depending on what is best for the individual including:
-
Experiential Therapy
-
Focusing on what you are experiencing and feeling in the moment so that we can process emotions, bring insight/knowledge into awareness, and reconnect to your original self (you can feel like you!)
-
-
Mindfulness
-
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I also have an interest in nervous system work and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I provide both individual and family counseling to ages 5 and up. I have the most experience with anxiety, chronic pain, chronic illness, dissociation, trauma, spirituality, high sensitivity, neurodiversity, identity, and OCD. I also love to work with clients that have experienced mysticism or are highly sensitive to the outside world.
It took me some time and work in other fields to realize my true passion is to help others through therapy. I first started going to therapy myself back in 2012 when I was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I know that working together with my therapist helped me with my own difficulties from trauma, anxiety, codependency, and perfectionism. Therapy has allowed for me to thrive and grow as a person, and to then be able to share that gift with others. I personally experience the benefits of going to therapy, and that is what led me on this path where I am now.
I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in South Carolina. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston in International Studies with a concentration in Europe, alongside a minor in Psychology. I later obtained my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from The Citadel. I currently reside in Charleston, SC with my husband, our son, and 2 Siamese cats.
